Indy's Bow Tie?

Has anyone ever looked into this? Over the past month I decided I'd start my own "thing" and started wearing bow ties daily. What can I say, I'm a pediatric dentist and a little quirky.

In any case, seeing Indy in TOD got me thinking about it, but I haven't been able to fine one similar. I've looked at many places online, but have not been successful. If I could find the material, there are many places that make them. I don't have to ability for screen caps, but as I recall it seems to be a brown silk which width-wise have 6-7 subtle lighter dots/patterns. Screen caps or thoughts would be welcome.

Since you're from Dallas, you're probably familar with Channel 8 Weatherman Troy Dungan who always has a bowtie on. You might consider contacting him and perhaps he has seen one and might know where to direct you. I know it's longshot but I'm trying to think outside the box in terms of resources out there.

After scavenging some old threads, I came across these pics (courtesy of Sergei, who first posted them):
According to another old bowtie thread, it's supposed to be charcoal grey with green dots.
Give us a holler if you do find the fabric, jedidentist - would love to add an Indy bowtie to the collection:

I love bow ties! I used to wear them to work all the time! My favs are the ones you actually have to tie yourself. I, too, had wondered if anyone ever started a thread about Indy's bow.

If anyone can find the raw material, we
could get the folks at Beau Ties Ltd. of Vermont (
http://www.beautiesltd.com) to custom manufacture them for us. They'd be up to $25 each, and require a full yard of fabric each, but according to their catalog:
"We'll make any of our basic styles in your fabric for $25 per tie. We need a full yard of fabric for each tie, but if you are ordering in multiples, we will determine the appropriate yardage necessary and work out a full discount."
It's a fun site, and an interesting print catalog to boot. Check 'em out!
Sincere regards,

HJ... what a great idea! Now... where to find a fabric with the right color and pattern? Could a custom-made fabric be ordered from some fabric supplier?

Scandinavia:
This might well be possible....

I've never thought it through to this extent before. Let me check with some connections in the costuming business. Anyone else have any ideas as to the above suggestion?

What a great site! I like the idea of getting an "Indy Bow" too! I just wish I knew where we could get custom fabric made...

I always equate bow ties with Les Nesman from WKRP. I must say, the bow-tie is about the most non-threatening thing that you could wear. In that regard I think that it should be required dress for physicians.

This is an item I'd be interested in as well. I used to wear these type bow ties back in the 70's, when they made the first comeback, and took the time to learn how to properly tie one. I'll probably have to learn all over again, but it's definitely a classy look. Keep me in the loop if this one gets off the ground. Regards. Michaelson

Yup, that was one of the places I looked at in terms of making the tie. From what I can remember, I don't think it's a flat brown silk, but appears to have subtle "striations" (only visible at certain angles) about the width of the "pattern polka dots". Finding the exact pattern would probably be difficult, but if we were able to find the correct brown silk, we could get a faint screen printing done? That might work.
