..a real good distressing.
I know that this picture will hurt some of You, but to my belive this is how
AldenĀ“s 405 (or any Indygear for that matter) should look like...
As always my distressing is somewhat "destructive" as I dont use colour etc. I use sandpaper, wearing and dust/dirt.
Enjoy!
Best regards
JAN

Well they're certainly distressed looking... nice job! When did you get those shoes? I'm still a little lost as to whether or not Alden has changed the color of the leather back to a darker tone.

I got them in october last year, and to my best belives the colour on the top of the shafts is pretty much what they look like as new.
The brown colour is actually very nice, even to my "european eyes"

Hi Jan,
like you I also want the "used" look on my indygear. Maybe you saw my Aldens, I treated them, too
They have a light color on this pic, but I plan to darken them. They should look like the ones in LC:

I just have to work a bit on them.
As you can see, I want the LC look on all of my gear. I recently put the darker buttons on my new Wested shirt
Anyway, I like your shoes a lot. Oh, I think I've got to dust them, too...
Regards,
Tom

I LOVE these boots! I can't wait for my feet to stop growing so I can finally get some!
Nice work with destressing guys. I find that taking a rock or a brick and taking the new off helps, but general wear and rubbing in some dirt here and there is the best way to distress boot.s

Here is what 10+ years of
natural distressing can do:
Have to say, the Aldens are the one peice of gear I never artificially distressed (I never had the need). I was lucky that these ones were in this condition when I received them, so I actually have to make an effort to preserve them.

Wow!

Now that is what I call an INdy boot! Unfortunately I'm too impatient to let them age by the years...
Anyway, nice boots!!!

Ken, those boots still look greeeat after ten years! What a testament to Alden's quality.
Those other pics look good too, but if they were
my Aldens I'd be running for the polish and pecards right away!
I guess I'm just a 'natural distresser' by nature.
Hmmm...can one be 'natural by nature...'?
