Indy watch

I have read numerous statements concerning what type of watch Indy would possess. Although I do not have pictures you probably can locate the particular watch I am about to describe through a web search or ebay search. The watch is the ermeto by Movado and other vintage makers. This watch is a pocket watch that slides open to reveal the time. It may be silver or stainless steel or nickel covered by lizard, croc or gator. This is an art deco piece so it would be period/time accurate. It is a real watch mechanical movement that winds by utilizing the sliding mechanism that is utilized to reveal the time. Some models include an alarm and stand to sit the watch up so it may be utilized as a desktop watch/clock. I have not perfected my computer abilities to share a photo perhaps when some one locates the watch I have described a picture will be forthcoming. Go to ebay and search movado purse watch to see to what I am referring. I know... purse watch does not sound to Indy style but this watch was interchangeable at the time. You must see it to understand what I am saying.

black,

Many posts and threads have been made regarding Indy's watch. I suggest perhaps utilizing the Search tool, and entering the keyword "watch". You will find a lot of info.

Gater,

I think the intent here was to share his version of the Indy watch. He also said that he has already read many statements concerning the type of watch Indy would carry. It sounds to me as if he already did his COW homework. I could be wrong, but I don't think a search of COW would help the discussion in this case. However, I think that the following link could shed some light on the type of watch he was describing.

Indiana Black,

Is this the watch you meant? If so, it is definitely in the right time period.

Welcome to the club.

Thank you for the clarification. That is exactly the watch to which I am referring. I own one covered in lizard. The ones covered in lizard, croc and gator are nicer in my humble opinion.

It is true to the time period, as that was a Hamilton design, and a highly sought after collectable. Regards. Michaelson

You may find three watches on ebay that are reasonably priced. Search purse watch. If the seller knows what he has a stainlees steel leather covered Movado may sell for $1000.
