Shoulder Holsters

Though non of the Indy characters actually wore one, they were pretty popular in the Era.
In the Mummy and the Mummy Returns, and The League of Extrodinary Characters, the two starts (Rick and Sawer) both wore dual pair shoulder holsters. Does anyone know a website where to purchase a dual shoulder holster? (I am looking in the price range of $1 - $100)
P.S - These holsters would complete the hero chracter's costume in my new film!
Thanx for any help!

I think Lee Keppler at Adventure Supply offers shoulder holsters as well, might wanna check them out.

It's located under "urban gear" I don't know if they do dual holsters or not

El Paso Saddlery is a good custom maker too. They made my first Indy flap holster that I STILL carry, and they cataloged several versions of shoulder holsters as well. They can be reached at 915-544-2233. Great company, and have been around since the 1870's. I give them two thumbs up. Regards. Michaelson

If you can't find a double shoulder holster you could always get one left hand and one right hand holster and remove the straps on the non-holster side and connect them together with matching leather strips. That's what Rick O'Connell's holsters looked like to me.

Although somewhat out of your price range, copies of the Last Man Standing rig turn up on Gunbroker.com.
I used Skywlrkinc's method and joined 2 Bianchi X15 shoulder rigs. Works ok for field use, although a tad bulky for true concealment. Thse holsters can usually be picked up on Ebay for a reasonable price and have the advantage of being suitable for both revolvers and autos.

Maybe you could build something from this?

I think leather is going to run you alot more money than your set out to spend. Also what guns is your movie indy going to carry?

Although I can truly recommend Uncle Mike's for quality (I have had an UM nylon shoulder rig for 14 yrs) I don't believe that they have any leather offerings. But if you do go that route, they are very durable.

True, nylon would probably be cheaper, but a leather holster is haelthier for your gun. It allows it to breathe more, whereas the nylon may keep unwanted moisture from escaping. My two pennies, anyway.

It's one of the 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. I have read exactly the opposite regarding leather vs. nylon, as leather can leach out tanning acids, and if the gun is left in the holster to long, can actually etch the bluing, or worse, start rust pits. It's one of those topics in the gun field that has it's strong supporters in both camps. (sound familiar?
) I have used both, and with care, BOTH are a good choice, with neither really showing a preference to the startup of rust if you're properly caring for your gear. (see, I even preach non-distressing when talking guns!
) That said, leather is going to be a lot heavier than the nylon, and have to admit I'm more aware of my rig after a day of carry when I have worn leather than when I've worn nylon. As I've gotten older, I've found I'm preferring lighter and lighter weight gear.

Good point.
Personally, I'd prefer the vintage look of the leather holsters for vintage guns, but for an everyday carry of a more modern weapon, I think I'd probably go either/or. Now, for my basket hilt claymore, that's a different matter altogether... with the exception it's not a very concealable piece.

I imagine the drag mark you leave behind as you walk with it is a dead give away as well!

Bink,
I hate it when I have to give one of my guns CPR or a Heimlich maneuver or something.

I always thought Jones wore a Sholder Holster for his Browning in Marion's bar.

Yeah, Bufflehead, blow down the barrel and see what happens.

I think he holstered it in his pants. Just like on the ship.

Well, I went down to my local Army Surplus Store, and looked in the holster section. I didn't get the doible version, but I got a real nifty velcro version that fits me perfect (the leather one was too big for me, I tired one on). I will post pics soon!

Congrats... though I'm a bit sad that the leather one didn't work out for you.
