Well, I don't think they're rounded so much as a cut-off point /\ cut to a / \.

Yet other screen grabs have the NH sold style of epaulette, that is the pointed /\

I kinda prefer this style (pointed), but to each their own

I vote angled...like this: / \
Like a triangle with the top cut off...

Here's one screen cap I've blown up that demonstrates the point:
Image

It doesn't look like a half circle, clearly it is more angular - like the sides of a stopsign. It looks more rounded in other screencaps because of the camera angle and also because the material is floppy and worn, creating a softness to the edges...

Ok So is this the idea?

I can see if this was the design, in time they could round with wear or even fold to look more pointed.

Gobler: That's exactly the way I see it. Now... can you send that to WPG and Peter?

I think we have to think about how these epaulets are made. In order to fold the material over to get the seam, it is very difficult to get either a perfectly round or pointed edge. The hybrid is what results, and that's what I think is giong on in the movie shirts.

EXCELLENT diagram/drawing there Gobler!! :D

I think this is the type of info Jerry, at "What Price Glory" is looking for and asking from us Gearheads.....I would send him that diagram  .

Kind Regards,
Captain D

p.s.....I dunno if this was debated with Peter or not, seems like it was discussed once before, but aren't the epaulets supposed to extend a lil' further past the front stitching/pleats of the shirt than what the pics show in W.P.G's new shirt.....?

Peter has made the epaulets on the new Wested shirt to look like that. The new Wested shirts have squared off epaulets.
