USWings Antique Lamb Indy jacket

Post by IndyBlues »

Does anyone actually own one of these jackets. I've done a ton of searches on the subject, but only come up with goatskin, and cowhide results. Someone told me that it is one of those jackets that people have been asking about for awhile, but no one seems to actually OWN one.
I've heard that the lambskin is too puffy looking on this jacket, but I've seen the new Wested lamb, and that has a slight puffy look as well, I just figured this is the nature of the beast, ...er..or the lamb.
I really like the idea of the aged lambskin, that by the websites description, ages rapidly, to give it that 50 mission look, in a short period of time.
Anyway, any help would be great,

I own one of these. It is the one jacket I wish I hadn't bought. There is nothing wrong with the leather or the construction of the jacket. What is wrong is the design.

I read a while back someone said their Wings lambskin had a seam up the middle of the back panel, and someone else here thought the person was refering to the Avirex Type 440 jacket that Wings offers. He was not mistaken, the Wings lambskin does have this seam up the back.

I can personally testify that the Wings antique lambskin I have has a seam up the middle of the back panel, and the side straps are reversed and pull to the rear, and if thats not enough the D ring set up is so tight that you can't adjust the straps

Also the interior lining is not cotton it is some kind of synthetic blend, which does feel much thicker and heavier, in terms of weight its like a cross between an A2 and light weight leather jacket. Also the sleeves have a section on the inside of the sleeve that is made of two pieces of leather.

What is interesting is that it isn't nearly as accurate as my Wings goatskin, which has a Cooper tag inside it.

Frankly, after plunking down $339 plus shipping, I just didn't have the cash to ship it back. It was a huge disappointment, and it also put me on my wife's ****list for spending that much on a jacket.

Personally, I was very happy with my goatskin from US Wings, it fit perfectly, distressed well and was accurate enough for my tastes. But the lamb was a complete let down. I hate it and never wear it. The only bright spot in the whole mess is a few weeks later I picked up a Wested Raiders in lamb from eBay for a reasonable price, and it fit perfectly to my measurements.

If anyone wants pics of the Wings, drop me an email at cotton747@hotmail.com with 'Wings Lamb' in the subject line. Also if anyone's interested in acquiring it, let me know.
