My 2nd Wested, replacing my first that was too big, just got here! It definitely fits better and looks more screen accurate. The only flub was that they put the zipper on the American side instead of the British like I requested, but that is minor and not worth sending it back. And now that I have a digital camera, I can share the joy! :D I've got my best Indy tough guy facial expression on in the pics, but as I sit and type with the jacket on I'm grinning ear to ear! \:D/ The last pic is the combination of my two gear obsessions - my take on "The Mystery of the Blues!"

Tom,

The jacket looks great. What are the specs on the jacket?

What year is the Strat?

BTW, Nice bash on the hat also.

The jacket is a Raiders Auth. Lamb w/ rectangular slides. I had the back taken up 1.5" from the original.
The strat is a "pre-distressed" 1989 American Standard - I'm not sure if that piece of gear would offend Michaelson or not... :-k
The hat, believe it or not, is my old wool Disney that I rebashed to look more screen accurate. I am saving up for a better hat, don't worry!

We have the same jacket. I like the way it drapes on you. It will break in nicely. Mine seems to be fitting me even better over time. Sleeves that I thought were too long have wrinkled up to the exact length. The body of the jackets seems to have stretched out where I needed it and contracted where I needed it also. It's like a pair of fine gloves. I think the heat and moisture of the body makes it conform to it over time.

BTW, I have '97 American Standard. I play instrumental surf music on it and blues, But I digress...

Congrats on the jacket! Looks like a perfect fit. The Strat looks awesome, too. That would make a great avatar pic.

Sold it to a fellow COW member so that I could afford #2...

Great jacket! :D But to fit the era better, shouldn't you be playing an old Gibson or Epiphone hollowbody instead of the Strat? The Strat didn't come around well into the 50s. bink

Yeah, ok, good point. Of course, after 4 Strats, a Guild acoustic, 13 different effects pedals and 2 amplifiers - to drop over a grand on Gibson wouldn't leave much money for Wested jackets, MK VII bags, Alden shoes and Akubra or Keppler Fedoras.
Oh yeah, and my wife would probably divorce me!

With all my vintage guitar gear, and the fact I just got my first Wested (which I'm wearing as I type this) AND since I just ordered a Fed... well, frankly, I'm surprised my wife HASN'T left me yet!

I must have a good woman. bink

Your jacket looks great. Looks more like a dark brown, but its probably jus the lighting.

Again, the whole color/lighting issue - even though it's Authentic, it looks dark in pictures - go figure...

Zipper on the American side looks good. It's what you're used to using and the decorative pull is visable now.

Nice selection.
