new colour aldens

Post by Chipster »

I just want to thank Neolithic for the speedy delivery of the aldens :D

They look like they have been hardly touched.

As I have a second pair already, I plan on dying them black.

Black i hear your say.

two reasons

I want to wear them with my dark suits and brown doesnt always go with them

and secondly a want to go negative ( well opposite really)

Black wested
black aldens
grey fed
white shirt
grey trousers

Thanks again Dan

Before you dye them (which will be cheaper), you might take a look at these Aldens:

They're called the Alden 86 and have a nice cap toe; a few COW members have a pair. Rundquist and I think Pyroxene come to mind. Just my two centavos.

Peace,

P.S. I found them in this post:http://www.indygear.com/forum/viewtopic ... ight=black

Good call on the black Aldens, they are great for those times when you can wear the brown ones. I died my original pair black a while ago. I used tandy leathers "pro dye" . If you need any tips let me know!

Antonio,

Those are the Indy boots. Reviews are found all over the General Gear forum. They are in fact available for web purchase. Try http://www.aldenshop.com for info on ordering. Just click on the picture of the 405 Boot at the top of the page.

Yeap, I know they are the Indy boots, as a matter of fact, I'm the proud ownwer of a couple of pairs, but they came with that orange tone, what I meant was the dark brown color that those on that page have. Also scrawling on Alden's page couldnt find model 86.

Antonio, the Indy boot only comes in "dark brown" It's just that the batches of leather that they use for their brown are always changing. This year it's kind of a darkish brick color, which is very nice. In the past they've had that pumpkin color. Who knows what next years batch will be like :-k

Sorry my friend, yes, it has changed color back to the dark brown. I have the "orangy" colored ones, yet mine have darkened up with plenty of Pecards. That is interesting that the 86 is not on the Alden site. Hmmm...

Thank you, my friends.
Mine also have darkened with pecards treatment, and they are getting a nice brown color, I guess I'll have to order my third pair?????
