Searching for JCrew Boots:

Post by Captain D »

Hello!

Currently, I am hoping to order a size 12 boot from JCrew (Indy-boot look a like). However, I can't seem to find the EXACT link that will take me to this boot site....for pics, prices**, sizing, shipping info, ect...Can anyone help me out and steer me in the right direction? If so, I greatly appreciate it!! :D

Thank you for your time!

I think they are all gone, though.

I ordered a pair of Decker boots from J Crew just last week, in size 10, and 4 days later they were on my doorstep. So, I think they have more pairs in. Good luck.

HJ

I didn't know that for sure, I thought they were all gone. Are they still the cognac color?

They were out for awhile, looks like they got em back... Yep, cognac colored. I'd go for these if I didn't already have the aldens, they make a nice cheaper alternative.

How are you suppose to pick your size? I don't see a shoe size chart.

HJ, how did your 10's fit? I wear about a 9 1/2 in Doc Martens, do they fit about the same I wonder.

Bufflehead, they are indeed the cognac color and they come with two laces: yellowy things and tannish brown laces, both nylon. When I ordered mine, I expected it to come up that they were out of stock, but it didn't. Then I thought I might not see a confirmation email, but it came. Then, four days later, they showed up. I believe they were $55 delivered to the door. I am very impressed with them. They're really nice, made in Itlay.

I just put Pecard on them yesterday because they seemed to absorb some water. (I spilled hot coffee all over them and they didn't stain a bit and that was before the treatment of Pecard, so the factory coating wasn't that bad.) Let me know if you want to know anything else.

Indy81, about the fit: I am a solid 10 in all shoes: sneakers, dress shoes, shoes from LL Bean. J Crew asks for a width. I asked for a 10 D and they were perfect. The first day they felt very uncomfortable around the ankles (Ask IndyFist about his pair - He hates the way they fit around the ankles!), but then they broke in and now, unless I lace them too severely, they are perfect. I hope this helps.

Thanks HJ, and by the way a while back I did get sized for a pair of Alden 405's size 9EE. Do you think if I asked for that size that they would fit fine? Maybe I should just order a straight size 10. Either way, I can't pass up an oportunity like these.

Indy81,
If you're a 10, go for the 10. The one thing about these boots is you cannot return them. You could sell them here or on eBay, but it's better to order right the first time, I would think. If your street size is 91/2 I would order that size, or 10, which is close enough and you can wear a thick sock. :D

Geeze, I wonder where that "unexpected demand" came from :-k

I would keep checking back. They're bound to get more in. They were sold out a few weeks ago, showing only a size 7 on their site. I went in and ordered them according to item number and there they were. -Sorry about that. :(

I'll definitly keep checking back on that one. Just hope the sale lasts a while. Anyhow, guess this gives me a good reason to purchase that Cabela's safari shirt I've had my eye on, and if that item isn't in stock I don't know what I'll do.
