of stockwhips.

At the WWAC convention I was talking with Paul Nolan about whipmaking and of course, checking out the whips he had there. Then he pulls out a pair of Frasier Stockwhips and says "This is why I don't make stockwhip."

They were BEAUTIFUL!. The handles were done in green, black and white with her signature scobie hitch knob, the thongs were plain black. The plaitting was perfect, and when I cracked them they were feather light. Just as she says, the whip did the cracking for me. I am still in awe.

Janine, you're amazing. I have been very proud of my progress as a whipmaker, but you've shown me a whole new standard to try to achieve.

Awwwe..........gee wiz Major Mike you know that, when you say nice things like that I get all embarrassed mate! Anyways thanks for your kind words there. I'm bloody stoked that you enjoyed cracking them, as that means "everything" to this whipmaker. The whips can look pretty as anything but that doesn't make them sweet to crack. Glad you enjoyed them...hey how'd you go getting them out of Chooka's (Paul's) hands anyway? Didn't think he would share his whips hahah only jokin! He's a good fella, he seems to like to show his collection of different whips from whipmakers to people. Good onya Chooka!

Its good to have bench marks and standards to work towards. And there are so many whipmakers that do such incredible work too. I think they are an inspiration to us all. Keep up the good work with your whipmaking Major Mike, Paul tells me that your making some great stuff too. Would love to see some of your work Major Mike

Got to say one thing though mate my name is "FRASER" not frasier! Must be an American thing? Cause you fellas are always getting it all mixed up...haha. Hope you understand that my name means everything to me and im very proud of it so had to make the correction mate sorry. Just before my old man died we had the ferrules that are now on my whips finished and Dad said to me "Remember Nene your name is everything: be proud of your name and always hold ya head high"! I hope I live up to the old man's expectations. Thanks for the wrap up Major Mike!

Hey Adam you cracked me up mate! I didn't notice how that could be read! Then after you made mention to it I went and had another look and it cracked me up...leaves allot to the imagination hey! "Be Carefull!" hahaha :D

Hey Mike,

Did you happen to take any pictures of the whips?

Janine, you really have to get your whips up on a website somewhere!

Are you going by Adam now or can I still call you Mola or Omar?

Yeah, I know there are a couple pictures of her whips at WSP but I really think Janine should have her own site because she does such great work.

Hey guys, I posted many, many pictures of Janine's whips about 6 months ago here:
http://www.indygear.com/forum/viewtopic ... aser+stock

Many pictures of her stockwhips and closeups of the Scobie Knot. Maybe I should give these over to Mark Allen. :-) Go to that thread and you will see her detail. And they crack better than they look!

My sincere appologies, Janine, for getting your name wrong. I also take great pride in my name and heritage, but have one of those names that people mis-spell often. My last name is Moran, and people are forever writing it down as Morgan. Perhaps it was destiny that I became a whipmaker. Of course being called Morgan is much better than the other way the kids used to mis-spell it in gradeschool.

Mike,

It was great seeing you again! Your improving greatly, and that stockwhip you made looked excellent, keep it up! Try that tighter keeper next time, and let me know how it goes.

"This is why I don't make stockwhips." HAHAHA, I love that line! It's true, Janine is the reason I don't really make many stockwhips. Her whips are the best stockwhips I've ever cracked, personally. So I figured, why compete if I can't compare. I make stockwhips for myself for fun, and I'll make a stockwhip for a customer if they want it made by me, otherwise janine is my pick. I kinda keep stockwhips for my artsy, just for me stuff.

Hey Sheila,

He had to pry them out of my hands!!! hahahahaha. I do, I like to have a good variety of whips from different makers so people who are looking for a whip can try them all out and see which type fits for them. Plus its a good excuse to buy a bunch of whips, which I think is something we all want to do. :D

Mike, you got off easy. She really had at me when I said Fraiser, like the tv show. hahahahaha. but I've learned my lesson now. :-) Right Fraser? hahaha.

I'd be more than happy to post some pics of these particular whips. could anyone tell me what I need to do to do so. (wow, that was wordy).

Walt,

I just thought I would let you know that in vegas this year, I got to see THE RAIDERS WHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was completely freakin' awesome!!!!!!!!! Now if only I had about $30,000 to throw around. It was alot smaller diameter than almost all of the Morgan whips I've seen. Really surprising, but definitely a Morgan whip. It looked a lot like some of the older Joe strains I have seen. It was definitly a memory I will treasure forever. Thank You Mark!!!!!!

Regards,

Paul Nolan

Janine,

Seems you've joined our esteemed Mr. Kepler...er Keppler as far as misspellings. I've adjusted the title of the post to correct it. You should see some of the variations of "Marosy" I get.

I'm glad your wares are held in such esteem. Now go get that webpage going!

Thanks very much marosy. Names are a funny thing hey...depends on where in the world you come from as to how ones name is spelt and pronounced. I bet I would ruffle the feathers if I tried to pronounce some names with my aussie accent...yikes!

The website............arrrrr its becoming an issue I think
