Hello, fellow Indy fans!

I have a Wested Last Crusade jacket that I've had for maybe twenty years or so. It's become a little lighter in colour, more a tan than dark brown. I took some advice and used Lexol leather conditioner oil on it. The leather feels & smells great and it has darkened it a little. But not enough.

QUESTION #1
If I give it another coat of Lexol oil will this darken it even further? Or have no discernible effect?

QUESTION #2
What product, that you have actually used, will darken the leather to more of a dark brown?

I’m no expert, but I do find it distress my jacket.
But what I’ve found that helps in the darkening if I was a little more zealous.

Picard makes a brown conditioner.
It won’t bring back to factory specs, but it will darken it.
Or
You could try a leather dye. I used it on my Wested which has a grey undertone, should say did.

Just my two cents.
Try in small area first.

I’d use brown pecards.

I over dyed a jacket with a water based leather dye and that gave a nice consistent darker shade. Overdyeing with spirit based dyes can be a bit hit and miss depending on how the leather absorbs the dye. Water based dyes sit on the surface

This was the Brown tannery dye from Le Prevo (order code C121 - www.leprevo.co.uk/dyes.htm). It's the same pigment base as Tandy Eco-flo but unbranded so substantially cheaper.
