Had some spare time yesterday so made a Raiders style flapped Sam Browne holster for S&W J frame .38 revolvers with 2 inch barrel.

Holds both Model 36 Chiefs Special and the Model 38 Bodyguard revolvers:
Will be adding these to my regular range of holsters - longer version for 3" barrel J frames will also be an option.

Very nice looking holster, and great idea. I love these kinds adaptations of Indy gear.

I bet a Taurus 605 .357 with 2” barrel would fit in that!

The flap on this version is sized for wooden Magna grips on the J frame - but can design another template with a larger flap for Pachmayr type grips which opens up it fitting the Taurus. Something else for my to-do list.

I have Hogue grips on mine which aren’t as large as Pachmeyers, so this still may work ‘as is’.

Current size flap will definitely only fit slim wooden Magna J Frame grips but sizing other templates is just a case of putting different grips on my model 36 and then some trial and error to find the right size and shape.
