Frye boots ....no one has any feedback?

Post by joeyofarimathea »

Hello I know I asked about these a few days ago but I was very surprised that I have gotten almost no feedback accept a link ...thanks Michaelson...?

So please if someone here owns or has owned these ; would you please post some feedback? Quality, size, leather, durability, break in time, etc?

Any help is greatly appreciated.......

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

I have a pair of Frye Arkansas. They are just “ok”. I found they broke down in the heel cup, and really loosened up all over. They are almost not wearable anymore. I don’t feel they were particularly durable. I own two pair of Alden Indy and one pair Redwing Iron Rangers. The Iron Rangers are a far superior boot.

I’m not sure what your budget is, but Nicks Boots seem to have the best construction, and options for customizing.

Thanks so much Mike that was really helpful. Hopefully 1 or 2 more Gearheads will chime in here? I was hoping someone here has experience with the Frye Walter Boots?

Well, I think part of the problem is these boots haven't been offered for years and even the link Michaelson found is seven years old. Some of the members who have owned the Frye boots are no longer active on COW.

I did a search for Frye (search box, top right corner) and found several old threads where members did discuss them "back in the day".
