Scotch-Brite & Leather

I was fumbling through the kitchen the other day and found an unopened pack of Scotch-Brite Heavy Duty Scour Pads (UPC 0511315021825). It occured to me that these would be a good candidate for distressing jackets.

Dropping whatever I was doing in the kitchen, I ran to the coat rack and took my Wested Lamb down. I lightly brushed this over some of the distressed areas of the jacket and it did an excellent job of highlighting the distressed points.

One very interesting thing was that the pad immediately started to show some wear after rubbing it over the jacket. For me, this is a very cost-effective method of distressing as these pad are fairly inexpensive at most all local supermarkets. And, the fact that it didn't damage the leather as much as I have seen sandpaper, I think it would be a good item to keep in your distressing kit.

Just some thoughts,
Pyro.

Interesting. I use the Scotch Pads myself to clean the track on my Lionel Train Layout. You wonder if the makers knew all the uses we've come up for these green beauties? Ha!
