Just got my steel toe alden lookalikes-update w/pic

Actually I got them Monday, and am still in the process of breaking them in. Imagine a pair of Aldens the color of an authentic lamb jacket - I must admit I was very happy with the color. They're still a little stiff, but should loosen up with wear and of course they are getting naturally distressed being used on the job...

I plan to oder them in a few days but without steel toe .
How do they look inside and which changes have to bee done that they look more like alden´s ? Other Sole ?
Does a steel toe look screen unacurate ?

I've got a pair of those. Sizing was normal for me. I did add a pair of regular Dr Scholls insoles to keep my feet from heating up so quickly.

How are they ? The question is should i order them and save the rest of my money for a holiday trip with my girlfriend ore should i save my money for Alden´s  .. The only boots i had were Doc Martens which were really really tough ..........

If you want a shoe with the basic look and a color that's closer to the early scenes of Raiders in the temple, then they are a good buy - however, it does not have the speed laces and it does have "EH" for electrical hazard stamped on the ankle. The JCrew Decker is closer to the Alden in everything except color. These shoes are relatively comfortable once broken in, but they did required a good week to break in - and on my job I walk an average of 3 miles a night.

The Deckers are gone in all sizes but very small (7 I think) and have been for some weeks. As far as I know they have no plans in bringing back the boot. Sorry  (I didn't get to order a pair either). I ended up with the "Rugged." Not as nice or screen accurate but a tough boot with a tread sole that gives great traction, something important to those of us in the icy depths of Ithaca

A little tip as to making the Carolina boot a little more Indy-esque - I cut the fabric tag off the tongue. It leaves only the outline of where the stitching was, but that's better than a black fabic label with a red bird on it...

Are they large in size so that i should go a number down oder should i go a number up ?
Has the leather a good quality ? I only own DocMartens Boots which are the standart for me

I ordered my standard size and the fit was fine. The leather is of good quality as far as I can tell...

They look nice!
It looks like the tongue is turning out on the left one. Are they comfortable? Did you put in any inserts? Are you left handed by chance?

Do you feel cool in them?

I'm a righty - the tongue leaning to the left was not intentional. I have tried a couple different insoles, but right now I have the ones that came with the shoes in them. As to how cool I feel - well, temperature wise they seem fine. As for looking cool 8) - it's the same as with most Indy gear - it's a classic style that you can wear just about anywhere, anytime and at the same time feel a little like our favorite action hero... :whip:

A lot of people swear by the Aldens, I happen to own a pair but I wouldn’t rough ‘em for what I paid for them. I’m toying around with the idea of finding the modern indy-shoe equivalent and, pound-for-pound, it looks like the Carolina is it.

Since the JCrew Decker boots seems to be gone forever now, where can I look for a pair of the Carolinas? Is there an easy link somewhere? :?
