Noticed these just now. Is the leather on these close to Harrison Ford's original Indy Boot?

These look good, but I didn’t think the sole had that pattern “comando”. When I bought mine.
Just wish they weren’t so expensive.

Have to find a orthopedic shoe seller and get sized again, if I drop this kind of dough, wanna be sure of the fit.
Mine fit, but I have no idea of the size.
And Alden couldn’t do a restoration.

I don't really care about the sole, they are after all recraftable. I'm looking for the same type and color leather that Ford then wore out to get that lived in look for the movies.

In that picture, it looks too dark to be similar to what Ford used back in 1980.

What you are looking for is a brown shade...towards caramel....if that makes sense

Here is a pic of late 70's Indy boots:

That looks like 'em.

I still can't get over how expensive they are.

They're expensive, no doubt about that, but they're built like a tank and last a lifetime.

Those look great... again they seem spendy. Especially when you can get a pair of White's or Nick's for less. They don't look like Alden, but they're made so durable I hear.

Love the Aldens, like the trim round the sole. I have that same pale trim on a kudu pair I own. I know they're not screen original but a nice pair of boots !

I have picked up a couple pairs of Aldens on eBay. People buy 'em and wear them once, decide the size was wrong and then can't return them. Bought both pairs of mine practically new at half price...

I bought these rusticalf leather Alden Indy's about a month ago. I returned them. After owning chromexcel and calfskin, the rusticalf seemed thin and soft, which is great If that's what you're looking for. I wanted robust boots especially if we have them on a commando sole. I'm sure they were fine but it was just too thin much for my liking. I would have kept them if they were in literally any other thicker leather with THAT color.

To get the finish on rusticalf they tumble the leather with stones or other materials. Just look up rusticalf..I couldn't find much more. But I didn't want beat up thin leather.

I would recommend looking for Indy boots with natural chromexcel. Those are close to a caramel color and will probably darken up a bit more.

I guess we'll have to wait until calfskin in a better color starts showing up.
