Northwest Hat Co Raiders
Hey gents,
Here is my newest hat from Mike Miller. A spec'd Raiders, with turn. Can't wait to wear it! The man is a master at his craft and should be included as one of the best Indy hat makers there is. And you should also try any other type of hat from him.

Mike makes some very nice hats. I have a couple Indy ones in brown and moss green. Also got a couple other styles from him. Good prices and quality hats.
Re: Northwest Hat Co Raiders
Northwest hats are works of art
I have 3 of them. Awesome hats. Your Raiders is splendid.

I’ve been looking at this thread in hopes someone would post a link to his site.
I’m assuming he has one.

He is also on FB. Prices depend on felt type. I will say his hats are not that expensive considering some of the other custom makers. I would guess between 250-350 on average.Indiana Croft wrote:Thank you Glenville86.

Appreciate it Croft!
Re: Northwest Hat Co Raiders
Probably a silly question, but I still wonder so, here it goes: The hat body is turned, but the band and lining is installed correctly, i.e. not turned so when you put the hat on, the ribbon is in the back, not turned?

Re: Northwest Hat Co Raiders
A "turned" hat is all about how it's bashed and worn, not made.
The hat is made normally with all the parts lining up. Then, it is turned when bashed. So wearing a turned hat, the bow on the sweatband will not be centered on the back of your head.

Indiana Jeff

Re: Northwest Hat Co Raiders
That's correct.
The hat is made normally, but bashed/blocked off center so the seam on the sweat band that's normally directly in back of your head will be off-center, the bow will be more towards the front of the hat when it's normally directly on the side, and the dimensional brim will then create a "swoop" because it's also off-center.

Re: Northwest Hat Co Raiders
Im on like my 4th Kepplar and i need a new one. I ran into Tod the other day on vacation and he was admiring my Indy gear. He mentioned Le Kepplar had passed. I lived near Lee and just picked my stuff up from him. Sad to learn that.
Any way, nice hat, whats the website for this guy? Im interested in it.

Lee passed away in 2015, huge loss to the Indy community.
Mike's website is https://www.northwesthats.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. He makes a great hat.

I can't believe it's been years that I've been considering a beaver Northwest hat. Why I never pulled the trigger long ago is really sad. Now I'm ust doing the thing where I measure my head like a dozen times over the next couple days to make sure of the fit.

I'm trying really hard to resist getting one of these. I used to live out in Oregon and actually went by the store once but it was closed and I never got back. Bummer.

Looks great! Must be a selfie flip because it seems like the bow is on the wrong side. Image is probably reversed.
