Best shirt in USA?

Happy Holidays! It’s time for me to get a new Indy shirt and I live in the USA. What’s the best bang for the buck on a shirt here in the USA?

Any recommendations?

Thank you!

-Chuck

Todd's Costumes shirts could work but they do not seem to be in stock. Otherwise unaware of any other US options.

if you wait about a week i will make a comparison between these two :)

Todd's shirts have been on hiatus for quite some time now. There are no US-based shirt vendors at the moment as far as I'm aware.

Your best off-the-rack bets will probably be WPG or Wested, both shipped from overseas.

I just ordered a WPG shirt, had it about 4 or 5 days later, so the speed of shipping is fast. If that is your concern.

Keep your eye on the vendors section. When ever Azuma starts another run of Indy shirts, his are awesome. Sell at about 75.00
WPG are great shirts, I have always had one in my closet, along with several others, mostly Azuma.

What size are you, In had a cotton Indy Magnoli in the bazar a while back.

Another vote for the WPG shirt, especially at $48 + shipping -- by far the most affordable high-quality Indy shirt. I also have an Azuma shirt (which costs considerably more, when he does his shirt runs); side by side, tough to tell 'em apart in terms of quality. Both machine wash/dry well and comparably.

Although WPG ships from the Middle East (United Arab Emirates, I think...?), shipping is quick.

And yes, Indy shirts pop up here in the Cairo Bazaar fairly often, so do keep checking.

My favorite "close" shirt is made by Orvis. I wear these in the field for work and I still get an occasional "nice Indy shirt." Great quality.

YES! The Orvis Bush Shirts are excellent quality! I bought my first one early this year, because the classic Willis & Geiger shirts are becoming very difficult to find on the secondary market, and I like it so much that my spouse purchased two more for me as a birthday gift!

The Orvis shirt looks more like a safari shirt than a full-on Indy shirt; actually, it doesn't just look like a safari shirt, it is a safari shirt, with the features, the durability, and the workmanship of true outdoor wear rather than "costume" clothing.

I’m a chunky fellow, so the fit of the last shirt I ordered back in 2013 just did not work. It was a bit too snug. I’ll have to order a slightly larger one this time.

It’s not my fault. It’s the mileage. :Plymouth:

They’re proud of their shirts for 98.00. How heavy are they in the summer months?
I do like an Indy style shirt in od green though...

I live in central California where summer temperatures routinely exceed 100 degrees for days at a time. I don’t find the regular Orvis Bush Shirt to be too heavy or uncomfortable even when it’s over 110. They also make (or have made) a linen version that’s very cool in the summer.

We're currently working on a ready-made version of our Adventure Shirt (I'm wearing the prototype right now!) and planning to keep the price under $100. Will post some news later this week or early next, most likely.

Would these be 100% cotton? Linen/cotton blend would be nice, and lightweight for us in high humidity areas...

The new shirts are a lightweight cotton. We've started the run and should be on the site some time in March.

WPG's run pretty big and they have three locations they ship from, one location is in California. Also Britain and United Arab Emirates. Much better color than other shirts (in my opinion.) It will be interesting to see what Magnoli has up his sleeve though. He's usually Mr. Screen Accuracy.

My votes would go to the Orvis shirt and/or the LLBean field shirt. Both reasonably priced and instantly recognizable as a standard "field shirt/safari shirt" style. Bean no longer makes that shirt, though, so you'd have to get one through eBay or some other "after market" source.

Cheers!

Though I'm sure this has been delayed due to the current world crisis, I am highly interested in this.

Could pants possibly follow........? :-k

I'll be curious to, hopefully since these won't be custom, they might actually fit me.
On his custom shirts, to many things can go wrong and now you have a shirt that's perfect in length, but the cuffs are too tight or something.
I like shirts that are basic like Azuma, here's the size. Done and Done.
Due to current affairs I'm sure his 2020 summer run has been delayed, if and when he puts a run out there he know I'm in for two automatically. Love his work.
Here's his ToD version, next up I think is another ROTLA.

about the only remaining domestic supplier of the 'authentic' Indy shirt is WPG, and it looks like they have all sizes at present. There are a ton of close enoughs out there.

I'm happy with my WPG shirt I got earlier this year. If I have one gripe though it's that i wish the collar was a bit bigger.

Is Azuma doing the ROLTA run? I just saw his post from February, but I haven't seen any threads on a run yet unless I am just missing it completely.
