I know... another Hero jacket question

Hello Gents,
I am looking to buy a Raiders Hero jacket and I’ve been looking for concrete answers and haven’t found them. I know the way the hero wears on the body is completely different than the standard jacket. I know my measurements for the standard. They are chest: 42, sleeves: 26, and back: 25. What is the appropriate measurement to cut down on it for the right fit for a Hero jacket? I have heard 1 inch and I’ve heard 3 inches. I’m just not sure so I thought I’d ask.
Thanks!

The problem is this will vary depending on the person. Some people have longer torsos or longer arms relative to the rest of their body. Normally speaking, to get a Raiders length, the sleeve length and the back length (taken from the base of the neck down to the bottom of the jacket) should be about the same number.
For example, I've got long arms and have my sleeve length at 25.75" and a back length of 25" even:

...then there's the issue with sleeve width. Mine seems a bit too slim. I have naturally thick biceps for some reason, so that really does not help. But really, aside from that, I feel the sleeves are to narrow. I got mine around 5 years ago, maybe. I love the regular off-the-rack Raiders jacket. It looks so, so much better now. I think it looks way more Indy-ish than my hero.

Yeah I'm not a fan of Westeds Hero Raiders narrow sleeve width. Fine for cosplay if you're wearing just the Indy shirt underneath, but if you want an all seasons jacket to wear with other things and a bit of layering it's not ideal. That's why they made their modern fit Raiders jacket. If only they made it with some of the more screen accurate hardware, but you can request it on a custom made.

That sleeve length and back length works for a beautifully tailored Magnoli jacket, but the collar pictured is placed more closely to the neck. For jackets like the Wested Hero that sit off the neck, and have more shoulder droop, the puzzle is harder to work out. I’ve shortened the back by an inch. As for the shoulder droop, that’s another one that’s tricky. You have to account for that unless you have really broad shoulders. Maybe a half inch there.

Perhaps I can help as I just recently received my Raiders Hero in size 42 and I had similar issues figuring out the right measurements to go for.
Questions for you:
Height and weight?
Typical jacket/suit size?
Typical dress shirt neck size and sleeve length?

I’m also interested in Hero sizing
My current custom ROLA from 2011 in Authentic Seal is 42, back 26” and sleeve 26”
The sleeves always seemed to be 1/2 - 1” too short. The back was just about right, and ended below my belt.
I’m 6’0”, 190lbs, size 42L jacket, 16-17” shirt neck size, 34-35” shirt sleeves, 34” waist in Levi’s jeans,

I'm 5'10", 195, size 42R jacket, 16.5" neck, 34-35 sleeve, 36" waist in Levi's jeans. So we're pretty similar, I'd say height would be our biggest difference.
I went with the general rule on here that you should buy about 1" shorter in both sleeves and back than a typical good fitting jacket, so I got the Raiders Hero in washed lamb (which is a beautifully textured, comfortable, soft yet not too thin, dark chocolate-ly leather) with 24.5" sleeves and a 24" back and I am very happy with the results. This is my first Indy jacket so I didn't have any other references, but to use a Top Gun jacket that I had which was 25.5-25.75" sleeves and 26" back. I knew I would have preferred the Top Gun to be 1-1.5" shorter in the jacket so I was deciding on between 23.5" and 24" for the Wested. I went with the 24" and I'm very happy with it. I probably would have been happy with the 23.5" too though.
I'll try to post some pics in the next couple of days when I get some free time.
