My New Bag

Mail Call!!!!!!! My "New" MK-VII arrived from WPG yesterday. Excellent service. Ordered it Friday, came in Wednesday.

That's good that you can get the bag and leather strap, with a good buckle, from the same place. Usually you have to look elsewhere for a decent bag strap once you've got the bag.

I picked up the same combo. Great price for the real deal.
Since this is WWII surplus, a word to the wise: save the original webbing strap. One of the anchors for the side rings had dry rot. I used the strap to make a new one. Well, not exactly new, of course. ;)
I used a hand stitching awl for that "fixed in the field" effect (aka "Frankenstein" sutures). :shock:

Agreed, I did the same thing. Good advice. Somewhere on this forum there is info about waxing the cotton, which should strengthen it I would think. Or make it more durable.

Looks great! Nice and green! I always remove the divider panel to make the bag more functional for carrying stuff (a coiled bullwhip fits nicely inside!). :TOH:

That's GREAT! loving the eyelet on the inside flap. That's one that's sought after I believe. I can't remember which specific scene. I want to say TOD?
