Another "Close Enough" Boot Option

Post by Indy Magnoli »

Found these on Aliexpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32891336867.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The toe detailing reminds me a lot of the old JCrew "close enoughs". $100 shipped doesn't seem a bad price.

Kind regards,

leather looks like @#$%. If you are going to spend $100 save and get something worth spending money on.

I just pulled the trigger on a pair of Sutro Ellingtons... with the 25% off Father's Day sale, the price was still over $200 with shipping (to New Zealand, mind you... so for you US guys should be under $200).

Still for a casual cosplay option those Aliexpress ones might be hard to beat. I haven't seen many close-enoughs around the $100 mark for a long time.

I wouldn’t mind having these BSA close-enoughs (especially at these prices). This is from a 1937 Boy Scout catalog.

Now THOSE are great! I love seeing period equivalents to the gear. There must be an old Alden add floating around somewhere. :-k
