Hello everyone,
I am getting around to ordering a last crusade jacket. Currently have a raiders in goatskin from Magnoli that is about 10 years old now. Last crusade is my favourite jacket, but I am worried about the fit. I know it is a roomier cut than the others. And while i dont wear skinny jeans (that look painted on), the pants i do wear tend to have a straighter slim cut than say indy pants do. what do you think the last crusade cut would look like when paired with today's style of slim pants?

for reference these are my current favourite pants to wear;

You wear the jacket, it doesn't wear you. ;)

The LC is a loose fit but it's not some baggy windbreaker form the 80s. Think more of the real fit of an A2. Especially without the knit cuffs and waist to prevent blousing it still flows well into the pants area.

I think it will be fine with whatever pants you wear, honestly. but that's jmo.

backstagejack is spot on.

I honestly have not see much of a difference in fit from the Raiders jackets I also own. Not enough to make much of a difference anyway.

The ToD is a snugger fitting jacket. I ordered a size up from Wested as I have big arms. Fit was not too different from the Raiders but still slightly a slimmer fit. Somewhere I read that Wested just made the ToD one size smaller than the listed size to make it slimmer fitting. Not sure that is accurate though.

Only the ToD jacket is a slimmer cut - in most scenes in the film. The other three Indy jackets are worn oversized - a big giveaway is the wide shoulder seam, falling off the shoulder and onto the upper arm. Mind you, the KotCS jacket is worn so baggy and long of sleeve it even looks wrong on HF to my eye.

But really this fit issue can only be understood once you see how the jacket fits you in person. I have found that Indy jackets can look odd if you are thin and wear narrower leg pants. It is a jacket that looks best with baggier pants.

The other issue is that people often buy a size that is somewhat too large for them and this can further throw out the proportions to my eye. If your shoulder seam size is 21 inches and you are really an 18 inch shoulder then the jacket can really look off if you are wearing modern pants. So to answer your question it may be more important to get the sizing right than worry about which pattern.
