Shellac

Hi, I have made a few leather whips, but never coated them with Shellac. I am in an EU non-english speaking country.

So I am not sure what Shellac is, or what the equivalent is, to be able to get some.

Can anyone help, please?

Thanks,
Bear

Sorry, not sure what the best translation would be.

Here is an article describing shellac so you may be able to come up with a better idea of what to look for locally.

Here in Austria it's available in bottles at most DIY stores - in the woodwork section. After a decade of whipmaking and mixing my own shellac from flakes imported from Austrialia, I realised there was a much easier way!!

Hey, whiskyman! Is it called 'shellac', or is there a German translation for it?

Welp, Nosirrah, you helped me a lot, actually! I didn't know shellac was a noun...I thought it was the brand name... #-o #-o #-o

I used google translate from English to my native tongue and found the product in my country....

Thanks and cheers,
Bear
