An addition to my collection - M1911A1

Post by bearbeast »

I know a 1911 is not Indy's sidearm, but I also know it is a "what could have been" and I am glad it was around at the time Indy had his adventures.

I am not allowed to own firearms in my country, so airsoft replicas is as close as I can get. And for the 1911 I could get even closer with the Inokatsu full steel replica.

So, I am excited to share some pictures of my new addition to Indy's guns:

It is definitely amazing to hold and to play with. It has a lot of heft behind it and the steel is very nicely finished. The attention to every aesthetic details is quite amazing and accurate to the real thing.

Functionally it is not that great, however. The slide is not always pushed back far enough to re-cock the hammer, even with a full CO2 cartridge. And the beaver tail safety has some positions in which it is blocked and you cannot push it down. In addition and very annoyingly the lanyard ring simply comes off, not being fixed in any way.

Thanks for reading,

Wow, that is impressive detail for a replica. I used to own an original and I wouldn't have known from the pictures that yours was air-soft if you hadn't told us! Im pretty sure Indy would have had one tucked away in a drawer at home somewhere... 1911's were extremely prolific in is time.

Yep, they put a lot of effort into each detail for this replica. I am very glad I got it. And the fact that Indy might have had one stashed away is really great.

I do like straying a bit off course with my Indy gear.

Cheers,

Hello... :TOH:

I also have the same weapon for a few years, it's very well made, it's very realistic...

It's the weapon that Captain America uses in The First Avenger...

A greetings...

Hi, MCINTOSH27, you are definitely right!

I remember the scene when they bust into the warehouse and Cap shoots with it. Very cool!

Hi, Bearbeast... :TOH:

Here I leave photo of my pistol and helmets:

Now I need to find the two shields if it can be in Europe because of the customs issue because the size is sure to stop it...

A greetings...

Wow, thanks for the photo! ;)

The 1911 is definitely a brother to mine. And I love the helmets! Very cool display!

Getting things through Customs is a problem in Romania too... Not to mention taxes and shipping. I also prefer ordering from the EU as much as possible.

Cheers,
Bear

Cool thread, definetly a "what could have been". In my country we're not even allowed replicas, so enjoy!

Oh, wow! That puts things a bit into perspective... "appreciate what you have".

I definitely really was glad I can own this airsoft replica at least.

Cheers,
