Alden Restoration Service

Is there a limit to how many times a pair of Aldens can be restored? I've had mine in twice over the last 12 years (I'm a little rough on them and they are worn daily) but now the sole is falling off the boot. The tacks holding the sole on don't seem to have anything to hold on to. Should I try again, or bid them adieu and start wearing my backup aldens?

Only Alden's Restoration can answer that question, and I guarantee they'll say they can't answer the question until they have the boots in hand to examine.

From the sounds of it, though, I'd say they've done their duty and deserve a hard earned retirement.

Well, I've sent them out. Anxiously waiting to hear back from Alden.

Generally, shoes can be renovated about 2-3 times due to the toll and structural changes it takes, so it sounds like yours might be on their way out. Worth sending it in to see though...

Do you have the info on who to contact on these?
I have a pair that I have put on in years, but would love to look into restoring them.

Information is available on the Alden Website, under restoration. Click 'request a restoration kit' and they send you a self addressed postal bag and the order form.

Thank you.
Sent in my request.
If I can get them restored, that's cheaper than new.

Sent them out last Tuesday, but unfortunately they came back rather quickly with a letter saying they felt they wouldn't survive the restoration process.

Good news is they came back in the same condition they left in.
There wearable, but they have been on an adventure or two. Only wear them now when suiting up.
Need to contact my closest source for a price.

Well, even though I thought I would get a letter telling me my boots were beyond hope, I received them back all fixed up. Honestly, I think the quality of the restoration service has gotten better. Heels seem to be matched up better, they repair a hole that was developing along the side and replaced the inside leather at the heel. I'm glad I sent them out! Croft, knowing what I sent them, I'm very curious to see what you sent that they said was beyond repair.
