Webley Mk VI in The Budapest Military Museum

Post by bearbeast »

This week I visited Budapest and I highly recommend the Military Museum. A wonderful array of equipment on display.

A great surprise was seeing the real steel version of the Webley MKVI:

Below you can see all the photos I took. I think COW members can find a lot of enjoyable things there:

- very distressed leather jackets still holding up
- a looot of leather holsters (one very close in stile to Indy's)
- a lot of other leather harnesses

Hope you enjoy!

I love the Nazi motorbike and the Schwimmwagen (I'm a VW fanatic)! WW2 is such a fascinating historical period, I could watch documentaries and read books about it all day. We have a large aviation museum in my city that I visit at least twice a year because I just enjoy walking among the exhibits and aircraft. There is also a display of WW2 American & German Nazi outfits and weapons which looks much like those at the Budapest museum. Thanks for sharing those great pics! :TOH:

P.S.- I totally have a Webley MKVI just like that! :D

I am really glad you enjoyed it. I love museums (history and military mostly) and it is so nice if you catch a day when they are not too busy.

You can walk around and enjoy the smell and atmosphere there. I really feel emerged in what I am seeing and taken back in time.

The Webley is by faaar my favourite of Indy's guns. I have the airsoft version, as others are not allowed around here. It is awesome that you can own and actually have the real steel version!

I had a long look at the one in the museum and I have got to say that the replica is spot on, so I am pretty satisfied with it as a substitute for the real thing.

I snapped up the Webley airsoft gun the day it went on sale (back in November 2014). It's just as heavy and, presumably, inaccurate as its historical counterpart, but it's very Indiana Jones to shoot! :D

My pleasure, Cajunkraut, glad you enjoyed it!

Whipwarrior, you are so right, the Webley screams adventure! Makes me feel like Indy just holding this HHC (hand-held cannon).
