So I just saw some others who revived a SOC advintage recently as well. Seems a lot of people are getting these spectacular fedoras!! Mine is in beaver "my first beaver" love his work. Highly recommend. Took about 4 months for me to arrive. It's cloudy outside so it seems darker outside then it is.

Thank you. It's my favorite of all my fedoras. Pics of course don't do it justice. Fedoras never photograph well.

Certainly the cheapest beaver hat on the block (pun intended)! I'm beginning to think I may need to get another hat.

What stiffness did you choose?

Also, to continue the discussion going on elsewhere, would you mind measuring the height the crown from brim to the top with the bash popped out? Just curious. :)

VERY nice looker, by the way! :TOH:

I chose the medium. The brim is nice and floppy soft but the crown is not too floppy and not too stiff just right for me.

Well, my next hat should be a beaver and by the looks of this one, I might just have to save my pennies for an Advintage...

Mine came out to $320 after shipping in USA dollars. Pretty cheap for beaver if I do say so.

Hi all,
hope you don't mind that I take the opportunity to mention some details here. All my handmade fedoras are made from 100% best portuguese beaver felt (well, Canadian beavers, but the felts are made by Fepsa ;) ) and the prices you see at the online shop are includiung 19% German VAT, which you don't have to pay as US customers. When you open an account with US address and log in, you'll see all prices excl. 19% VAT.

Since a few weeks I am using the 38mm dark brown galloon ribbon from TW Bracher for all Indy fedoras. Thanks again to Jack for sharing so much with us! This ribbon is really nice.

The SoC Fedora is blocked on a 14cm heigh crown block. Height of front and back depend a bit on hatsize. I have my standards here, but any custom specs are possible (same with the brim). It's a bit more expensive then the other hats, because I need about an hour additional time to work in the "muffin" shape of the crown. You can also choose how "much marked" this "muffin effect" should be. Some might think that the colour is too dark, that's why it's also available in "light-sable" (and 10 more different colours, all beaver).

I always recommend medium stiffness, because the hat will be comfortable to wear and won't lose it's shape easily, but the choice is yours.

...and since yesterday I can offer laser engraving of sweatbands, and it's free. I can engrave your name, nickname, Indy movie part or even small logos, so that your hat becomes even more individual.

Sorry for the self-promotion and the clumsy English! Please let me know, if there are more questions.
Best regards
Thomas

So, that's a shade over 5.5 inches tall, open crown, right? :-k

Yes, 5.5 inches = 13.97cm, so no difference at all.

I want to say thank you again Thomas for such a beautiful fedora. I will post all my fedoras in one pic. Such a great SOC fedora. It's so nice I can't see myself dusting it up.
