Say's it all, really.
I typically hang my whip on the wall, not in direct sunlight.
When I crack the whip, which isn't often, I typically treat it with a light coat of Pecards every other session.

Took it off the wall the other day and there's, well white stuff on one side, side that faced the wall.
Is this some kind of mold, and is my whip reparable? What's my course of action to bring it back to the way it was.
It's a roo-hide, made by mid west.

Unless you routinely hang your whip in a damp basement it is very unlikely to be mold.

It's probably the combination of the saddle soap used during plaiting and the pecard's you are applying seeping out.

One thing you can try is holding a hair dryer on low heat over a section of the white. If it liquefies, it's Pecard's and can be just rubbed back into the leather.

If it growls at you.....well, I'll leave it up to you how to go from there. Personally, I'd shoot it, but that's just me....

And if it is the Pecards, you may want to reduce you treatment. Whips that don't get used much need less TLC.

And it doesn't get as much use as I'd like, so I'll cut back, this may be the issue. Will keep posted, thanks for the tips.
