You guys that REALLY know your cracking and your whips, this one is for you.
What whip would you buy today that matches the quality and usability of the classic David Morgan or Joe Strain? I don't have much experience, and I believe my 8' roo Raiders style (maker withheld for sake of impartiality) is very good. I am just getting the hang of cracking and find I'm really enjoying learning. So I'm considering my next whip and I could use some skilled users advice, please.
Naturally, I would love getting an 8 or 10 ft. Morgan or Strain & I've been keeping an eye on the Bazaar as well as the used section of Trinity Whip Co. But It is pretty dry.
So what new options are there: ...and, BTW, please do suggest any other places to look for quality used whips.
Cheers!

Re: What whip for the pro?
I can't speak to any of the other manufacturers as all I have is a 10' Morgan from 1991 and never got another one; it is a great whip.
However, I will say that when I was looking to get my son his first whip (was on the fence between a 6' & 8'), Blake of TrinityWhips made an excellent 6' whip that my son mastered in short order. In retrospect, I might have gotten the 8' for him to grow into; 3 years later and he's much taller and stronger. But the roo whip Blake made was great Raiders version. Blake also sent me pics of its construction so I could show him how it was made. My son inherited my engineering bent, poor fellow, and really enjoyed seeing the progress pics. That was above and beyond service in my opinion.
Good luck,
Ride Guy
