I've seen an Indy style of jacket called, (Landing Leathers: Landing Leathers Men's Hero Indy-Style Leather Jacket). It can be found on the Walmart site and the Sears site. Price is under $200.
I was just wondering if anyone here had ever heard of this jacket. It doesn't look to bad.....

Looks like they also sell it on Amazon (Prime Eligible) for $150. No risk purchase if you have Prime.

I had never heard of these. Might not be bad, though it looks more "Indy-inspired" rather than a true Indy-style jacket. It's longer, for one thing. Yoke looks bigger, etc. That may be fine, if that's what you're after. Seems like it is a nice "mall" leather jacket in the Indy style. If you can get one with a good return policy where you don't have to eat shipping or a restocking fee, it might be worth it to give it a shot.

Thanks for the responses. I would still like to know if anyone here has ever purchased one. It may not be exact, but at least it has gussets to let the arms expand without lifting the whole jacket up.
I don't want to start a war about it being a true Indy jacket. It is not, but it looks a lot more comfortable.

My experience is that even an old guy in WV needs a good Indy jacket!?
I have ordered from LL before, and sent the jacket back, pronto. It was not an Indy-ish jacket though. I think it was an A-2 kind of thing, the leather was of poor quality and I sent it back.
Ordering from one of the tried and true vendors in the forum is the best option. If you are looking for a more relaxed fit jacket, USW might be a good option for you, or sometimes Diego has a few batches of extra leather on clearance. His CS and attention to detail is tops.

Thanks much. That was all that I was looking for. I just thought I would try an Indy style of leather jacket. I have a very good leather jacket that I purchased from sears about 8 years ago. It is a large, unfortantly, I am now an XL. Oh well.....
I will find something that fits my frame. Right now anything over about $175 is a lot of money to me.
Thanks again all. I will find something someday. (It is major pain to get old and live on Social Security.....)

Greengo,
Not sure if you saw this thread:

It's for an Indy-style jacket made by Flesh and Hide. They can be purchased on Amazon for $125. Only the one member review, but he seemed to like it. Looks like it might be what you're after, if you are indeed still after an Indy jacket.

one thing to take note of is that with knock-offs, many times they do not make the action pleats, but instead, are just seams on the jacket.

Great tip! Wouldn't have even thought about that.

I have two Indy jackets in my arsenal- a very heavy Wested and the much lighter Flesh & Hide. The F&H is my warm weather jacket, and in NC it gets plenty of use. This jacket has been worn and used and has done well. There is a tear in the lining at the shoulder, but I think that was from a coat hanger. I am not as picky as some folks, but it does seem there could be different leathers used on the same jacket- but the color is consistent. I have worn it at conventions and gotten compliments on the jacket.
