Just that. I thought I saw it some place.

Just wanting to know them as a basis.

Thanks!

What I recall was

Back 23 inches - bottom of collar seam to bottom of hem.

Front 23 inches

sleeve 25.5 inches

Pit to Pit 22.5 inches

Waist 21.5

Pocket 8 inches by 6.5 inches

Size 42

It was a very short jacket and I would never wear a screen accurate one. I need a 26 inch back and I'm HF's height.

I've always had my doubts about those, especially the back length. But even if you accept them as true, it's important to remember that Ford's height is more in his legs than his torso, relatively speaking.

I don't know about that. I had a Schott leather jacket that was cut in a strange way and it was just 24 inches and hung like it was 26-27 at back. I think the unusual pattern making involved in this hastily put together jacket explains the fit.

Stefan and Dan will soon give us the LC back length (25 I think) so it will be interesting to compare these measurements.

I also think many of us here wear our jackets long so we are surprised when someone wears one several inches shorter. A thin build also makes a jacket sit lower and Harry was pretty lean.

Dan is around Harrison's height/weight and he popped on a 23 inch Tony Nowak replica in full costume. It hung right where it ought to hang.

The back length is misleading because it's all in the cut. The way I look at it, is the that the missing two inches is off of the TOP of the jacket in the back, not the bottom. And why the jacket falls back on the shoulders the way it does. This is also why, I believe, that his jacket can look long in the front, when the jacket is pulled forward.

When I had Tony make my Raiders jacket, I opted for half an inch longer. WHAT'S HALF AN INCH, if I'm wrong? Man, did that half inch ever drive me nuts in the end. :)

All very interesting. I read in several places that, on the safe side, the "back" often comes in at 1 or 1 1/2 inches longer than the "sleeve" measurement.

A few folks suggest to go this route when in doubt.

And I noticed in the Wested Hero thread that the first few jacket pics. are of a jacket to these proportions.

Just an observation is all.

Thanks all around for the feedback. Way helps!

Yes, the point is the Raiders jacket is an anomaly of pattern and cut. As I said before it sits like no other jacket. It is not properly made. If you are after SA that's one thing. If you are after a proper convetional fitting jacket forget the film version.

This really bothers me about the current Raiders jacket pattern.

I also have a size 42 with 25.5" sleeves and a 21.5 " waist. Only the pit to pit measurement on mine is 24.5" and not 22.5". I know it seems nit-picky, but I think those extra 2 inches contribute a lot to the flying squirrel effect a lot of people here talk about.

I did go with a 27" back on purpose though, and I am so happy I did. I looks perfect. And I'm only about 5' 9-ish" in height. The front is 24". It just looks less awkward.

I whole-heartedly agree that a screen accurate jacket, "is not properly made." as CM said above.

I spoke with Peter himself at Wested and he pretty much said the same thing. He really did not want to sell the hero jacket because of the lousy way it fits!
