US Wings Strap Mount

Hi,
Can anyone tell me on the Legend is the strap securely anchored to the jacket - is there a leather square underneath the body of the jacket for the strap to be stitched and secured to as per a G&B and some others? Or is the strap simply stitched to the jacket with nothing else to mount it to the leather?

Both ends of both of the straps on my 'roo Legend are sewn directly to the leather on the jacket with box stitching.
One end of my Expo strap is sewn the same way, but the other end is anchored into the side seam of the jacket itself. There is no 'leather square' in the body itself. Just the strap sewn into the seam.
I just checked both my goatskin and my lambskin G&B. There is nothing inside the body that the straps are secured to other than being sewn onto the leather on one end, and anchored into the seam at the other by the thread of the seam itself.
As a matter of fact, you can even see the thread on the backside of the side split where it was sewn. It's not even IN the body of the jacket.
These G&B jackets were made in 2001 and 2002. No issues after all these years.
If you're worried about strength, though, USW has done this strap attachment on their jackets for 30 years and I have yet to see one get pulled out or off.

Same with my USW Roo jacket.
I felt through the liner and there doesn't feel like there is any extra leather on the inside of the jacket anchoring the strap.
Same as with the Legend I had in bison. (Wested jacket on the left.)

Thanks for that info - just checked my G&B and dang it - there is no leather mount on the reverse side of the leather as I thought.
Sorry. Glad to hear the Wings is tough. Good photos Jeff, thanks.
