Got the jacket on the bay, did not expect a suede jacket. Tag is hard to read but states it is " Exclusive for the Walt Disney Company something Designs". Anyone else come across one? Sucker weighs in at over 5lbs. What type of leather?

That's not suede. At least as far I can see on the pictures.
Suede leather is made from the underside of the skin, not the "full-grain". I can see full-grain on your jacket.
IMO, it's some kind of pre-distressed cowhide. 9 to 1.1 mm thick (minimum), according to the weight.
Cheers.-

Unless there was another vendor that was used by Disney, which to my knowledge there was not, that was probably made by Cooper (now USWings)

Thanks!
Let me make some inquiries and see what I can find out about that UA Design designation.
I sent David Hack a copy of your first photo to see if it rang a bell, as he said he and Neil Cooper had (and still makes) jackets for Disney, but there were some supplied by vendors out of China that had the contract before Cooper/Wings were awarded the franchise.
I'll let you know what he says.
Stay tuned.

I had picked up one of these on the bay a little over a year ago and I thought it was a fine suede, too. But I really liked the look of it. Only problem (which I have with most jackets) it was way too small in the shoulders and arms so I sent it back. All I remember was it was a Disney exclusive.

A search on UA Designs points to a group of companies out of China who seem to have their hand in a multitude of businesses. They may have had an office (or for that fact still do) in California, but these jackets were made overseas.

Any idea when the knock offs were sold at Disneyland? I purchased one in '97 removed the label shortly after purchase. Michaelson, I remember you identifying the leather as napa and Rundquist complimented the jacket that it was one of the few jackets (at the time) that nailed the LC collar.
