Just wanted to let people know GunParts has repro pre-war Service style grips suitable for a Bapty conversion.
The medallion is wrong. It's silver and not an actual S&W medallion. If you can't find anything else though they are worth a look. You could always got a gold medallion off a cheaper pair of incorrect S&W grips and swap it out.

These grips are nice, I've bought them for my bapty quest. Getting the gold/brass medallions is no small feat though and isn't cheap. I have bougt a few pairs of vintage grips just to salvage the medallions.
If I may, I recommend you get them from their direct site and save your money! $70 vs $50+shipping. While you're there, grab some moon clips and other extras to make it worth your while!

I love those grips- I replaced the grips on my 37 Brazilian with these both because they looked nicer and to protect the current condition of the original grips.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't think to search their site specifically. Good call.
I would be ordering a set of these myself but I lucked out. The HE 2 I picked up has the wrong grips (pre-war Magnas) but I found a guy with the correct Service grips w Medallion willing to trade straight across. I *might* be able to make a little more selling the Magnas, and buying a set of service grips, but it's close enough that it's just easier to make the trade.
Until I put the Magnas up for trade I wasn't finding ANY correct Service grips, outside of on a gun.

That sounds like a good trade to me! I found a pair of NOS service grips with gold medallions on Ebay, the guy wanted $300 for them. Someone ended up buying them for $275 I believe. I ended up buying about 3 different types of K frame grips in my attempt to find the right gold medallions, sometimes because the listing said "1917 grips" and I rolled the dice, other times because I saw the medallions and planned on salvaging. Below is what I was going to go with before I ended up with a new gun that had the correct original grips altogether!
Lee Keppler has a pair of great gold medallion grips that he just came across and seemed willing to sell, but I no longer needed them.
