Alden 405 pictures- older leather soled ones

Post by Kokopelli »

...not to clutter my rant in the other thread, can I get some pictures of member's 405's with the leather soles and heel that has the smaller rubber bottom, please?

Also, does anyone know when they started putting on the 'neo-cork' soles?

Thanks!

I'd say it had to be at least before the mid 90's, as my first pair had the cork soles. :-k

Yeah I've had the same; cork sole with stacked heel. I bought mine in 2009.

You were lucky. Sounds like you got new/old stock.

Is this the sole you got put on?

I have seen it put on 405's before when I was looking at pairs. It would be very weird for them to put it on your boots if they didn't before and I'd be ticked if they did...no the real commando soles maybe not but this one yes.

No it was the cork rubber, but it's a lighter shade now I guess from what was out on in the past
