Does the number of strands making up the whip contribute to how it cracks? I have a 4-plait 9 foot whip (yes, I got it because it was affordable and thought it would be good to learn with), and so far, the only way I can get it to crack is to toss the whip out in front of me almost underhanded and then pop it down. Overhead or baseball throw styles don't seem to work with this whip.
