WPG's new lightweight pants
So WPG now has these new lightweight Indy trousers and I'm wondering if anyone has ordered/received/worn them yet.
My concerns are the weird back pocket spacing and the fact that I can't find any info on the lengths offered.
Soooooo anybody know anything?
I'm inches from placing the order cause the price isn't bad but.... ya know, just not sure.
Any info is very much appreciated!

Re: WPG's new lightweight pants
I contacted wpg about the length and I received an email from them saying 33-34" for the length. I to noticed the spacing on the pockets. If you are going to pull the trigger then make sure you share your findings. I am 6'2" so the 33-34" is too short for me.

Re: WPG's new lightweight pants
...either it's the pocket spacing, or somebody's arse is too BIG!
Lay off them buffets, will you, hombre?
With a little input, I think we could help. The lighter weight wool cavalry twill is the right way to go, though. That was a move in the right direction.

Re: WPG's new lightweight pants
I completely agree with you about the light weight material. The pockets might just be the angle of the photo but like I said about the length, they are too short for my height and I did email them suggesting to offer them in lengths more conducive to taller gents
I am a big fan of wpg as I can tell you are too

Re: WPG's new lightweight pants
Well I went ahead and ordered them. I decided for that price, since I'm currently pantless, I might as well give them a try.
My ray of hope on the length comes from the fact that I got a reply from WPG saying all the INSEAMS on every waist size is 34".
I don't know about you guys but when I pull a tailors tape from crotch to floor I get 33" and that's on jeans that fit. Not even accounting for the baggy crotch.
Maybe I'm way off but I think they're gonna fit me just fine or possibly even have them hemmed up a bit.
I will for sure share my findings.

I am also anxious to see these. The pockets do look frighteningly wide in back, other than that I like =) Let's hope that pic is deceptive.

Re: WPG's new lightweight pants
Ok I got them today!
Here's what I think of them but keep in mind I've literally never seen ANY other Indy pants in person. I've only studied pics and read a ton of stuff about them on forums.
First off I'm impressed with the shipping, it not only got here super fast from overseas but said it'd get here Monday.
So getting it this morning was a very nice surprise.
Fit is pretty much perfect. I am 6'2 and 210lbs wear a 36 in jeans from any store. I ordered a 36 and they really fit great, just enough room to tuck in the shirt and be comfortable. Length falls just right, not too much pile up and not hanging freely above the shoe. There's a nice break in the front without looking sloppy.
The weight of the fabric, again just about as right as I can imagine it should be. Slightly thicker than store bought khakis or dress pants but not by a lot. In fact I'm not sure I would've noticed the weight/thickness at all if I hadn't been specifically paying attention to it. It just seems right and is comfortable to move around in.
The color according to my Gf (I'm colorblind) is a good match to all the pics I tortured her with.
She says its a dark khaki and is closest to the famous Raiders full body inside the temple pic.
The back pockets are spaced a little weird honestly, not nearly as bad as the pic on the WPG website though. My pair actually has one back pocket slightly further to one side than the other but again I'm nitpicking.
If not for the weird pic on the website I probably wouldn't even have noticed the back pocket spacing because I wouldn't have been looking for it.
Now the hem unfortunately is flat out not accurate. It's only one inch and since they fall just right there is no taking it up for me. They only come in that one length so if you're shorter then you could have it brought up to be more accurate. I'm just gonna have to live with it on these.
The measurements by my own hand with tailor's tape are as follows:
Inseam from crotch to bottom of leg hem is 31"
Length from top of waistband down the outside seam to the bottom of leg hem is 42.5"
Waist around the outside through the belt loops and closed as if worn is 37"
There are no suspender buttons inside the waistband and it is lined with a shiny satin material there.
Ok I know what your gonna say... "Pics! Pics! Where's the pics!?"
Well I'd love to post some when I figure it out. I'm so bad at stuff like that and I don't even have a computer. I need to take them with this iPad and post them from this iPad in whatever size is allowed. So advice is welcome lol
Anyway feel free to ask any questions about them or anything I didn't cover.

Thanks for the comprehensive review. It's tough being the first member to try a new product offering and your contribution is what this site is all about.

You could always drop them a line. They're members here:Texan Scott wrote:...either it's the pocket spacing, or somebody's arse is too BIG!

Re: WPG's new lightweight pants
I really like the color and texture of the wpg light weight pants but I've had a ton of issues with the construction unfortunately. First, those back pockets are spaced too far apart. Then the front belt loops ( the ones closest to the fly) are spaced too far from the button/fly area which doesn't allow enough Web belt slack to get a real SA look. Also my pair has ripped in two different spots with very minimal wear. I'm sure I just got a bad pair based on so many other good reviews. Any other negatives discovered by WPG owners here?
Thanks
Brian

Re: WPG's new lightweight pants
Well, I had to exchange my first pair because they were dreadfully bad. The replacements were better. Those pockets are, yes, too widely spaced. I actually had two of the belt loops moved, but no the front ones. I will be wearing them for the first time tomorrow, so let's see how they hold up!

What are they made of? Wool? Cotton?

Wool I'm fairly certain so they will probably have to be dry cleaned unless you want them to shrink.

Any pics of these?
I'm considering ordering a pair.
