Make it Jones

Post by car96 »

Just placed my order with MIJ for all LC styles.

Going with the gunbelt, whip holder, gun holster and the bag strap. Gonna look good.

Now I just need a gun

Um... yeah, that's an essential piece of gear for an Indiana Jones enthusiast. Get crackin'! :whip:

The whip was one of my last purchases. I was a slow poke but finally got one! At everyone's insistence of course. :)

I just can't justify $500 plus dollars on something I will get pretty much zero use out of unless wearing all my Indy gear.

Then again, I don't want a piece of costume junk either.

I think when I do decide since I am not all that far from Crease and Coral (Vidor, Texas) I will go with his LC version.

Anyone talk to them lately? What is the wait time? I know Penman, John (Bending Oak) is a big fan of his work.

My whip is a Calceado (sp?) made by Gus Calceado, a member here. Sorry I cant remember his SN but I got it in the bazaar for around $200 and it is GREAT. I absolutely love it. Cracks and looks great.

The whip was my very first 'official' gear purchase back in 1997 at the dawn of IndyFan.com / Indy's Diggs. I went straight for a David Morgan, back when his prices were still reasonable and he was personally involved with making each whip. Prior to that, I'd used a variety of cheap 8-plait cowhide bullwhips, then a nice American-made 10-plait latigo. Once I made the jump to the real Indy whip, I never looked back. :D

Mine was when I was a toddler, from the IJESS gif shop at "MGM Studios". Those wonderful shiny black whips. :)

Where can I find a Webley that will fit in a holster of 5.5 inches (made by MakeItJones)?

It does not have to be completely SA.

You can buy a fully functional Webley MK6 airgun (which is a LOT of fun to shoot!): http://www.airgundepot.com/webley-mkvi-revolver.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Yes, that is cool & I do want one.

I just don't want to pay 189 + for one.

Great! Here is my holster, taken today. I posted this in the Novapelle thread too, so here it is again but focus on the holster!

Gear from David, Make It Jones, came in today.

I am happy with it. You just can't take for granted custom craftmanship these days; a great skill to have.

The gun belt could be a little smaller.

He does really great work-great leather smell.

I would love your comments & thoughts.

Congrats on your new stuff, Car. It looks amazing.

David's job is near to perfection, I love the look of the bag strap and holster. I have the same stuff and the whip holder works perfectly.

Enjoy it for many, many years :TOH:

Hi guys, new to cow, but some of you may know me from other forums. I too have purchased some Raiders leather items, and simply must agree with the above that they really are made by a fan, with care and respect.
Thanks to David for making them available, and i'm glad heard of him before l bought something inferior. Cheers

Many thanks for the kind words - 10 year anniversary of making gear for me now. It's been great to have the opportunity to build and develop those skills and craftsmanship and help a heap of other fans complete their collections along the way!
