Wested Fit

How does the Wested fit in the chest? Does it tend to be generous or slimmer? I wear a 42 suit jacket. If I wanted to where the Wested with a light sweater, what would be good? I do not like pulling the jacket up and having it tight around the chest.

The fit is snug. My Raiders jacket is a size 40, my regular size, and I
can't wear much more than a shirt under it. If you want to add a sweater
you may want to go one size up. If you look at Wested's sizing chart
you can see what each sizes actual measurements are.

They tend to be a bit snug in the chest area. Perfect for just wearing over a shirt, but add a sweater and you're in for a bit of a tight quarters. If you're thinking about wearing it in layers, you may want to seriously consider upsizing to a 44. That's what I tend to do. Regards. Michaelson

I read a prior post that indicated that when ordering a Wested, you can request one of three types of fits: roomy, regular, and military. One person (I am sorry that I forgot this person's name) said that his Flightsuits 40R was the same as a military fit Wested 44R. He also said that he got a Wested in a 40R but with a roomy fit and it was spot on with the FS 40R. Apparently, FS is know as being a roomier fit.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? I am truly a 42 in a jacket, so I am hesitant putting out a larger jacket size when I have never worn that in another jacket.

Send your ACTUAL measurements to Peter and specify if you want extra sweater room etc. He can take it from there.

Obial got it right;

I told Peter that my wested was my primary winter jacket, and also that I planned on starting an excercise program. And, I got bigger since then, but peter gave me room for both a liner and a sweater, as well as a bit of room for muscle to grow.

Now if only the muscle was as responsive as Peter...

When I spoke to Wested and told them about wearing layers, he (Peter, I suppose - forgot to get the name of who I spoke to) suggested going a size up(44L). The only thing I did differently was specify my lengths to be per my normal jacket size(42L).

A little biger is better..."Trust me." The Wested is a bit snug in the chest and in the shoulders.
