For the raiders ribbon, where are the usually stitch points to hold on the ribbon? I have looked at the screenused one over and over and I think I see a few but my eyes play tricks at times! The stitch points look like mid ribbon about 1/2 in up from brim
Thanks in advance ladies and gents!
Regards,
Jude

Re: Raiders ribbon stitch points
What you're describing is the "floating" stitches that good hatmakers avoid using.
Good hatters stitch the ribbon by hand right at the very bottom so as to conceal the stitches as much as possible.
The floating stitches on, for example an Adventurebilt Legacy, a Penman Cairo or a Garrison Cairo tacj the ribbon on with stitches placed about every 3" located around 1/2" above the bottom edge of the ribbon. (Yes I measured - but no, it's not "mid-ribbon" because the ribbon is about 1 1/2" wide.)

Yes. The Raiders hero was a beautiful mess.
If you look at the Adventurebilt Legacy you can see them reproduced to the most humanly possible degree I think.
