Ribbon source

First post in years.. Moved to Sicily and pulled my ol' fedora outta the box and noticed that I started replacing my ribbon a while back.Fast forward I started to get back into the Jones hobby and searched around but couldn't find a good answer (I think!?)
Does anyone know a good source for the ribbon. Right now I have the standard Fed IV ribbon on it. I see todds ribbon but that doesn't look dark enough
Thank you all in advance
Jude

Not sure if this helps, but the one used in Crystal Skull was manufactured in England. It says so on the ABD website.

At one time David Garrison of Garrison Hatters (member Local Land Surveyor) offered the ribbon he uses for his Indy hats for sale.

Indiana Jeff

As you are in Italy, try asking on a local Borsalino hat store.
In Padova city, about 4 years ago, I could buy 1 meter of their dark brown ribbon, in 4 cm width, for about EURO 3.-
That will be the cheaper choice (no shipping)
Garrison choice is very good option too.
We can send you some ribbon too. Just send us an e-mail.
Cheers.-

Thank you so much gents for the info. I am currently deployed to Djibouti Africa so when I get back I will start my search in Sicily for a hat shop. I was hoping for an online source. I will check w Garrison and the other hatters on here.
Thank you for the support!

I don't know how I missed AdVintage!
Here's your best choice:

High quality and very dark brown ribbon.
He is in Europe, so, closer to your current location.
Cheers.-

When I try to order it is adding a rabbit felt hat in it and it comes out to 49 euro. It's weird

I'd be curious if maybe it is Schiff ribbon...
http://www.schiffribbons.com/ribbon_det ... Grosgrains" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If so, you may find it's not nearly as dark as they post. Let us know.

Will do. It's a cotton/rayon blend so maybe it can be dyed darker. Dunno yet. Hopefully it's the right color

I had gotten samples from Schiff a while back, and wasn't happy with the color.
Gave it a quick dip in some RIT Black and it came out great.
This was a few years back, so if it winds up being darker now, that'll be great.
It might be worth buying some in bulk.
