Look who's turning seven this year...

Post by TheJonesBoys »

Greetings All,

I was sitting in my office at work today and thought, "boy, do I love my Indy jacket."

In light of this I looked up my purchase order info on it and realized that I had placed the order for this fine garment in August of 2008.

It is a wested custom last crusade/Crystal Skull style with underarm gussets, Xbox stitching, more scalloped cargo pocket flaps and a wee bit longer in the body as the main customizations. It is a novapelle cowhide.

Since ordering all those years ago, it has been my "hero" jacket and I have tried to wear it everyday. I can't believe my trusty jacket will be seven this year.

To celebrate this, I thought I might snap some pics and share them with the community (instead of doing work...)

And just for good measure, me in the jacket. Sorry for the cell phone selfie.

And there you have it.

:TOH:

Hope everyone is having a pleasant day!

Best regards,

Trevor

Dude, you've been a member since 2006 and only a handful of posts? You are too long winded, I think. Settle down, some! :P

You have the right idea in "making it an Indy jacket". This looks like it may be a copper novapelle hide? I have one also, and it seems like the older they get the better they look? Like a scar, you can always point to the scratches and say...this one is for the hiking trip I took, etc. Its sort of a lasting momento of the trip or adventure itself. As Peter would say, wear it in good health! ;)

Fantastic looking jacket I must say. I hope my jackets look like that some day. Now you gotta tell us about some hat action while at work. I sometimes miss the desk job I had where I could sneak onto the forums and melt away part of the day! :)

Yeah, I guess I'm a bit of a lurker to say the least. I like to check in every so often and see what's shaken around here. But I don't post all that often.

Thinking it's about time to change that.

Over the years I've collected a lot of Westeds and various Indy jackets from various makers, but this one has truly been my favorite. In fact, it's the last Wested order I made. (Though admittedly, it probably won't be the very last)

Looks great, Trevor! I'm guessing yours has naturally worn over the years?

Indeed it has. It's really getting those great worn spots and wrinkles from everyday use. It definitely gets better and better as the years go by.
