Make Your Own Jeans Indy jacket

Post by Jacques »

I came across this one today...

Would anyone consider getting this jacket? I'm skeptical how close to SA it could get, but curious nevertheless. Thoughts?

Interesting, you can get it in a python pattern..(did it have to be snakes?)... :-0

I thought the Brown paisley was a nice option as well

Who knows though, might be a descent jacket?

It would almost be worth the $130 to see an Indy jacket in red python.

Well the last pic in the sequence is one of mine that they have use without permission and have not removed despite requests.

Who knows where they got the other images from.

I used to use them for jeans.

Not any more.

One of those herringbone tweeds at the very bottom might look kind of nice in a jacket...

Sorry to hear that KT, thanks for the heads up though. I take it that was one of Peter's jackets?

The last pic of the back of the jacket certainly looks the part. Whose jacket is that? Best photo up there, besides the movie still.

And KT maybe they are using you photobucket links? If they are I'd go back and change your original pics for that to something else

Sorry KT, that's a bunch of cr@p! At least now the the guys know here and hopefully will avoid them. If they'll lie about that then there's no telling what type of business they run.

From time to time, members find supposed jacket makers who are "off the beaten path" so to speak. Usually, these ''vendors" post photos from other jacket makers taken from the net, or like in KT's case, other Indy fans. There are a few tried and true Indy jacket makers here, and you will know them because their offerings are discussed frequently. All of that to say that it is best to stick with them, because they have a proven track record, and continue to satisfy customers, relatively speaking. Usually what I have found is that not only do these other "vendors" use jacket photos from other jacket makers....which is a subtle form of deception....but more often than not, they do not make the back panel and action pleats config. correctly, and miss the mark on the specs, such as storm flap width, pockets and pocket flaps, collar, yoke, etc.

It pays to stay with the vendors who have made these jackets for years to the satisfaction of the customer. You have makers here, who offer jackets in most all price points, from $200-$1,000 or so. If the price bothers you, just wait for the jacket of choice in the bazaar or Ebay. Usually, you will be able to find an outstanding deal. ;)

PSA for the day. Final answer. :P

That's a shame, really. We could really use some non-leather options to work with. Frankly, for the price, the Wested never did it for me, and likely would not have fit me anyway. :( Maybe someday...
