Every day is hat felt day for me. Well.... most days. I don't wear it every day, but almost every time I go out, I bring my trusty indy lid.

Well, yes, except on those days you wear a straw hat because felt would be too hot.
(Don't hardly ever use this smilie)
That's actually the idea behind the day, celebrating the transition from summer straws to fall felts. Of course, where most of us live, straws are still a better choice for a few more weeks at least.

Indiana Jeff

True, but this has been one weird summer. I only got to wear my straw about 3 times this year, the rest wearing either my 78g lightweight AB beaver or regular beaver AB Garrison re-blocked brown.

Pulling this one way out of the depths as a reminder - 5 days until all of us can say, "Yeah, I wear hats every day."
Let's see what you wear on the 15th.

Indiana Jeff

If it's still in the 90's down here, I'm still in my straw.

I didn’t know this existed, thanks. I’m actually planning to go to Jock Lindsey’s on the 15th, hmm what should I wear?

Fluctuating between the upper 70s and low 100s. It’s supposed to be 99 on Sunday but who knows. Likely an ABL even at that temperature.
After all. It’s a dry heat.

Unfortunately, I'll probably be inside most of the day so no need for a hat!!! Oh well, there's always the next day and the next and the next and ....

On top of it all, I am a bit under the weather today so I will not be donning the felt hat but I can live vicariously through all of you who will!

In the 70’s today in NH wife and I went to a sun flower festival, wore my AdVintage ToD.
But hen again, it doesn’t matter the temperature for me, I’m always wearing a Fedora. Never leave home with out one.

99 here and I wore one anyway.
But it’s a “dry heat.”

I always wear my hats anyway. Everyday is National Felt Day! If it is summer and/or humid, I wear my ABL Raiders. For every other season, I wear my Penman Raiders or my AB Crystal Skull.

I did too when I was younger. As I got older, I go for comfort first now. Fur felt in 90+ degree Southern humidity makes as much sense as Indy wearing leather in the jungle. I’m not Indy. I've wore fur felt year round for literally decades.
I’ll be back in my beaver felt soon enough. Fall is a week away.
Regards. M

Spent the day indoors nursing a head cold. Didn't so much as put on a ballcap let alone a felt fedora.

Indiana Jeff

Last evening is was just cool enough to wear a fedora for our daily trip to the dog park. I keep her leash, tennis ball, and poop bags in a khaki haversack (NOT my vintage Mk VII!), so we had an Indy-and-his-dog thing going. Will be adding the jacket soon, I hope.

I spent most of the day either in the house or in the car coming back from camping, but my fed deluxe 3 got a little time on felt hat day... and a lot the 4 days leading up to it!
