Fiberglass for Stock Whip handle?

Post by Belial124 »

I have looked all over for a suitable fiberglass rod that I can use for a stock whip..all I have found is white.

I would like black, but if more colors are out there that's even better.

Anyone know where I can order some? I really want to make a stock whip next, I have made 5 bullwhips in a row lol...

I would think Fiberglass would be too wavy and weak. I don't know anyone that does those, but in mho, I would go for a metal handle. Those I would think, would be more strong then fiberglass.

Several people use fiberglass...but tohiti cane is prederwd...you could even get some rattan. 1/2 plair would be the way to go...that way you dont have to taper the sticks or split lay a metal core in it. The only problem with fiberglass is it will...could...eventually shatter
