How do you deal with waiting on a jacket?

I placed an order with Wested for my first Indy jacket a week ago, and the suspense is killing me. I can't wait for it to get here! How do you all contain the excitement over a new jacket until it arrives?

Or have you all ordered so many that the excitement is long gone? :D

I have 6 other jackets, so I've learned to be patient. Not saying the excitement is completely gone by any means. You'll be the same way... in time.

Man, I order so much stuff that I have packages coming all the time! Find out when it's supposed to be delivered and then try to kill time as much as you can...

I like to kill waiting time by searching COW for any and all threads relating to that specific jacket or item that I ordered. That helps me see others opinions and ideas on it and it usually leads me to finding and reading threads that I missed or forgot about.

I had to stop that. It made me start second guessing my all ready over-thought decisions on material, length, chest size, etc.

I just find other things to occupy my time. Read comics, watch runs of tv shows, exercise, etc. I'm waiting on a Doctor Who coat from Magnoli at present, so trust me, I need the distraction!

 Working more is definitely the route I've chosen right now. But, the raider's march has been constantly playing back of my mind. I assume it's only going to get louder until it arrives. lol

The wait is over my friends! My jacket has arrived. It's soft, light, and fits great! My only concern is how thin it feels in comparison to my motorcycle jacket. I'm nervous it won't last. People keep telling me goat is really strong. I guess I'm gonna have to trust them, because my only other leather jacket experience is horsehide, and it's thick and HEAVY. But at any rate it's fantastic! I was so worried about the measurements, but I think obsessing over those helped. Thank you all for your help!

Yep, got a winner there.

Don't worry about the goat not being durable. Thinner and softer than HH for sure, but tough enough to take what you'll throw at it.

Indiana Jeff

Not to be a creeper, but what are all the specs on this jacket? Size, hide, model, and all that jazz. Also what are your specs?

And what is your social security number?

The Jacket is the Hero pattern. I feel I should add that Rebecca said the hero pattern is .5" to 1" longer than whatever you set the length at. Like mine is spot on 27" long in it's actual length. The hide is goatskin. I like it. It's soft, light, and a really nice color. Plus due to moving some rocks out of the yard this evening; I can say that it's a rich brown tone when distressed.

Chest: 42"
Sleeves: 25"
Length: 26"

As for me I'm the average pattern.

Height: 6'3"
Chest 42.75"
Weight: 187lbs

The sleeves fit perfect and they ran true to my dress shirt sleeve size. I originally was going to get a 44 in the chest but decided against it since I only wear a 44 at J. Crew and their clothes are slim. The 42 actually measures 44" on the nose. If I wanted a roomier fit I don't think the 44 would be too large.

I could've easily gone for that 26.5" length option too. I like my jackets to be about 28" long so the closer to that point the happier I am. I hope all of that helps!

Thanks! I think the color is really good too. I don't think the pictures on their site do the hide justice. I kinda hate that this first experience was so good, because now I know that parting with my money will be relatively painless and the product is well worth it.
