Wested old style ROLA clearance query

Debating whether to pull the trigger on an old style ROLA lamb on clearance in size 46:

http://www.wested.com/rola-jacket---sea ... 1444-p.asp

Only thing that's stopping me is the pit to pit measurement of 25.5 on the size 46. The back length and arm length doesn't bother me as I'm 6' 4" with monkey arms. My two existing Hero and import Westeds are 46 chest and measure 23 pit to pit. Did the old style ROLA in 46 really have an additional 5" clearance in the chest? Is there something weird in the pattern or was it a Friday afternoon job in the sizing department?

Sounds to me like it was a returned custom order, though not unusual at all for extra inches being added to OTR offerings by many jacket companies. :-k

4-5" is about right. A 44" pit would be around 24". Probably 25" is more inline with a standard size 46", and extra 1/2" is not too far off the mark.

If you are using a 23", then possibly a 42"L would fit best.

Yeah,I can't remember if the old style rola had different arm placement in the pattern to account for the seemingly wider measurement pit to pit. I'll check with the barn tomorrow.

Interestingly the current Raiders offering from Wested shows an even larger pit to pit measurement for a 46 chest in the "slimmer pattern" at 26"! No wonder buyers are confused with measurements. Anyhoo I did purchase the one I had my eye on and it arrived next day, so hats off to Wested and Rebecca for sorting that. I'm very happy with the jacket, which seems as Michaelson surmised, is a return custom due to it being pretty well specced out with a zipped inner pocket and an additional piped inner pocket. Just getting used to how light the lamb is compared to the Goat while not seeming appreciably thinner. My only two minor gripes are the arm seam meets the yoke seam (pfft! Who cares?) and the silesia lining is soooooo thin it could be brown Graphene. It matches my old import from 2007 which was only recently relined with way more sturdy material. I'd be interested in what the actual vintage of this jacket is as it's an "older" pattern.
So overall I got an increasingly well fitting jacket (minor surgery on the arms to lengthen them an inch) for £141 delivered and I'm very happy with the Wested service!

And the wife didn't complain once about my purchase. Bonus! :D
