What is this leather?

I'm gonna order me a Wested but I need help! This pic is what I am looking for in the way of appearance:

I am unclear exactly what leather they are referring to in their description.
The pic is about half way down this page:

I have a 15+ year old bomber that looks like this & is soft as butter, but there is no tag and I sure can't remember what leather it was.
Anyway, the color of my bomber looks like this picture and I want to order a Wested that looks the same.
What do you think it is (leather & finish)??
If it is lambskin, how long is the longest I could expect one to last with proper care?
Thanks!!!

First welcome to the club.
That is a pre-distressed cowhide. Whenever you see the term "pre-distressed" that is what is refers to.

Thanks for the welcome and reply! The colors in some of the pictures vary while the descriptions indicate they are the same leather. For example, check out :
http://www.jacosos.com/myjacket.jpg
in the GOT MY WESTED TODAY topic.
Even though it says it is also the pre-distressed, it looks almost black in the photo while the photo referenced in my first post looks more of a rich brown color (which is what I am looking for).

As you will find out, it is all in the lighting. The jackets are dark brown and do look black in many photos - just like the movies
By the way, this applies to the color of the shirt, pants, fedora, MK VII, holster, gloves, boots and socks as well
Welcome to the madness

This touches on a problem that I have been having. Look at the photo referenced above. You can see that the two collar points hang differently. In the photo, the point on the side of the storm flap looks correct to my eyes, but the other point lays flatter. Seeing this, I thought at first that it had something to do with the way the collar attached to the storm flap, but then I looked closer at my jacket.
In my case (with an authentic lambskin), it is just the opposite. The point on the side of the storm flap is the one that flops over, while the other side holds its shape.
Any suggestions here? Is there any Leather Viagara that can be used on a finished jacket collar to help it stand up?
Best to all,

Plynck, check here for a possible solution to your problem.
Hope it helps.

I can clarify things a little about the jacket that is posted on the main Indygear site. That is _'s original jacket that now Fedora owns. It was ordered as predistressed cowhide, HOWEVER... it arrived NOT predistressed. So I wanted to make sure the interested party was aware that the actual predistressed jacket does NOT look what is actually pictured. I too agree that the highlights on that jacket are gorgeous. _ did not do anything to artificially distress it. He just wore it.
Take Care...

Thanks IB,
However, MK seems to be having the same trouble that I am with his lambskin:
MK wrote:The fix I prescribed is for stiff collars.....like goat. My new Wested lamb has the Elvis/John Travolta problem too. I wish the collar had more body.
I am working on it. I will report back on what happens.
I seem to remember someone here using a double sided tape (or something like that) but I am concerned about leaving permanent stains or glue on the fabric. I just was wondering whether there was a leather treatment or method of pressing that would work here.
Best to all,
