The grey one looks bashed, anyone know if that's Indys travel fedora, used again?

I think we should compare the supposed bashed out pinch and the bow work on the ribbon to the sea plane grey clipper hat.

The gray one definitely looks pre-bashed, as you can see the crease lines. It would tend to point in that direction. You would suspect that they might have used a straw hat or something that would be more tropical, or desert like, given the attire?

You can also see the guy in jeans (left side) in the outside Marhaba shot of Indy and the monkey.

I know a lot assume that the nazi guys grey hat must be Indys travel hat but could it have simple have been creased, it looked like Indys hat so they popped the crease out????

I've always liked the hat as filmed in Kairouan/Tunisia, Tanis digs, because it apparently underwent quite a bit of distressing between the Elstree scenes and the SoC...? Because the brim was 'wrecked' the hat sort of sat back on his head, and looked like something he had used for many years. Well lived in.

I've never been able to properly get the dramatic downward swoop at the front of the brim. Always thought that was cool.

I've noticed over the years that just about with each hat, it will have certain eccentricities that is particular to the felt.

I note that the brim is significantly more up-swept here too, not like the 'Plane/Clipper' hat! Yeah, I think it (the hat was bashed) previous to using it for this 'bad-Nazi-dude,' but it (if it is the same hat) took on other characteristics, as well. I would guess that wardrobe had a couple of these (grey) hats, just like they had several of the 'Hero' (for lack of a better term) hats, as well. They probably just grabbed one and attempted to alter it so that it would not look quite so 'Indy.' Just my two pennies on this one ;) ! W>
