I was just wondering if anyone has ever bought a Zorro whip from Western stage props? Mark Allen has the rights to make that whip as well as others it appears... But he doesn't make them correct? So they were out oarsed by who?...Joe Strain, Paul Nolan, Terry Jakka? Anyone know of a web link or forum that has covered this before?

Last I had heard, Joe Strain makes the full-sized whips, and Paul Nolan makes the Son of Zorro whips. There is a thread on here somewhere from 2008 that discusses this. The original whip was a prototype made by Joe for Alex Green (the film's whipmaster). It's appearance in the film was pure luck, as it's scene isn't in the script. From everything I've been able to gather together, it was put in at Anthony Hopkins request. Since the film, the whip has exchanged hands a few times, and it is currently with a very happy whip enthusiast.

Just did some digging and found the thread I was talking about, along with a really informative second one.

The "View Topic" links aren't working for me. Thanks though. I will search.

That's interesting... I just clicked on them and they worked.
The first one is called "Zorro Whip". The second one is called "Zorro's Black Whip".

Okay, so those links worked on Taptalk, but not on the forum. I just updated the links to reflect the correct URLs. They do work now.

Sorry about the inconvienence.

The costume never went anywhere. Shortly after those threads, I realized that I had already met the right girl and proceeded to get engaged. Life took over at that point, and this went on the back burner.

As for the Zorro whip, let's just say that I am "a very happy whip enthusiast".
